The Great Ring of Orentano is a circular route of almost 20 kilometers, marked with CAI-style arrows, connecting Orentano, Villa Campanile and Galleno, passing along the Via Francigena and its historic paving. The walk ideally starts from the bell tower of Orentano and leads through woods, courtyards, and the local springs — Fonte del Sasso, Fonte di Pierdo, Fonte del Leone and Fonte del Ghiandone — also touching on the Orentano museum and the area of Roman and Etruscan excavations towards Bientina (Ponte ai Gini). The ring can be completed in a leisurely day of walking, but it also lends itself to shorter sections starting from Orentano, Villa Campanile, or Galleno. Comfortable shoes, water in summer: it's the best way to truly see the area.
